AZSTA Dedicates Stadium Completion to R.C. Hunt

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (Nov. 16, 2005) - The Arizona Sports and Tourism Authority Board of Directors has passed a memorial resolution in honor of builder Robert C. Hunt.

Hunt, who passed away Oct. 22, was Chairman of the Board of Hunt Construction, the leading builder of stadiums and arenas in the U.S. and the general contractor for the new University of Phoenix Stadium being built in Glendale.

The AZSTA Board unanimously passed Resolution No. 2005-64 on Nov. 15 dedicating the completion of the stadium to the memory of Hunt. The resolution authorizes the creation of a memorial plaque which will be displayed at the main entrance to the stadium.

"Bob Hunt knew how important this project was to the Valley and he kept his company involved and pushed for an excellent facility which will bring many benefits to our community," said John Benton, AZSTA Chairman.

Hunt's company has built more than 70 stadiums and arenas in the country, including all but one of every retractable roof stadium in the U.S.
