Hunt Construction Group Awarded Third Project With Carson Tahoe Hospital
PHOENIX, ARIZONA -
Hunt Construction Group construction management and general contracting firm announces the award of their third Carson Tahoe Hospital project in the past two years. The Carson Tahoe Hospital Cancer Center in Carson City, Nevada, was awarded to Hunt's west regional office located in Phoenix, Arizona, on August 12, 2005.
The new $10 million, 34,000-square-foot, two-level cancer center will be located on the north end of an 80-acre greenfield campus site, where Hunt is currently constructing the new Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center. Construction of the new Cancer Center will begin in September and completion anticipated for late summer 2006.
The new Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center that is in final phases of construction is a new 345,000-square-foot, 4-level regional hospital with a 13,000-square-foot central energy plant. This project is due to open in October and will contain 134 private patient rooms, 6 semi-private rooms, 16 critical care beds, 27 surgical, 8 cardiovascular, LDRP and pediatric beds, 8 operating rooms, imaging, an emergency room, and a helipad. The total construction cost of this project is $86.9 million.
Hunt's other Carson Tahoe project, the Sierra Surgery & Imaging Center, which was completed in February, is a 50,000-square-foot, single-story acute-care hospital with 6 surgery rooms for outpatient and inpatient cases. The Center also contains a 15-bed recovery unit and 15 private inpatient rooms. This project was completed for $11.4 million.
