Hunt-Wildish Game Plan Set For Opening Of The Newly Expanded Reser Stadium At Oregon State University
CORVALLIS, OREGON - Hunt Construction Group construction management and general contracting firm of San Francisco and joint venture partner Wildish Building Company of Eugene, Oregon are putting their game plan in motion for the opening of the newly expanded Reser Stadium at Oregon State University in Corvallis.
The new generation of the "Beaver Nation" will be able to enjoy an 18,000-seat renovation and expansion of the football stadium's east side. The new east side of the stadium includes a new, triple-decked grandstand that includes 15,000 chair-backed seats with 3,000 bench seats for students that stretches from end zone to end zone. The expansion also features 21 luxury suites - all of them sold. Club areas offer fans 25,000 square feet, and a unique loge area complete with game day restaurant. The 300,000-square-foot expansion increases the seating capacity to 43,300 and includes new concourses, restrooms, concessions, elevators and escalators. The four-chair Founders Loge Level boxes will feature wait-staff food and beverage service, covered outdoor seating with climate control, private restrooms, private entrance with elevator service, private counterspace, private access to the Loge Club with a field view, a flat panel television, radio and press box sound options. This level too is sold out.
The $100 million project, which included a 1,000-car parking garage, the first in Corvallis, is the largest in Benton County history. It was constructed within a tight schedule of just 14 months in order to be ready for Opening Day. "We could not be more pleased with the performance and dedication of our project team. Reser Stadium is now a showcase facility in the Pac 10 Conference and further demonstrates our abilities as a company to make the impossible a reality. The fact that this project was completed in less than 14 months is a testament to the partnership between the owner, design team and contractor," said Robert F. Hart, Project Executive with Hunt Construction Group.
"The Hunt-Wildish team has been exceptional to work with on the Reser Stadium project. Their experience and desire to make this stadium a showcase facility for the University has been greatly appreciated. It has become a partnership, not just an owner contractor relationship. We have been very pleased with Hunt-Wildish's ability to meet and exceed our expectations," commented John Cheney, Director of Operations, Oregon State University Athletics Department.
