Hunt Construction Group And Jacobs Engineering Awarded Maricopa County Capital Improvement Project
PHOENIX, ARIZONA - Hunt Construction Group's Western Regional Office and Jacobs Engineering were awarded the Program Management Services for the Maricopa County Capital Improvement Program. The Program was awarded on May 1, 2003.
The initial scope of work included Program Management Services for the County's Human Services Campus, MCSO Property & Evidence Facility, the Downtown Development project, and the Public Health Clinic totaling $87 million. The Northeast Superior Court and Consolidated Justice Court was added last year for an additional $20 million. In January 2004, the County added two more consolidated justice courts projects - the Northwest Consolidated Justice Courts and the Downtown Consolidated Justice Court, adding $7.5 million and $8.75 million respectively to the CIP. In July 2004, the County has increased the scope to include the 26,500 square foot Chandler Consolidated Justice Courts, the 42,000 square foot Southwest Consolidated Justice Courts, the Southeast Consolidated Justice Courts and Parking Structure and the 600,000 square foot Madison Street Jail Renovations bringing the total Program costs to nearly $200 million. The existing Hunt-Jacobs CIP contract includes providing Program Management Services to support Maricopa County's three year Capital Improvement Program.
Hunt-Jacobs has been providing Program Management Services to Maricopa County since 1999. The first Program awarded to Hunt-Jacobs was the Maricopa County Jail Expansion Program totaling $525 million. This Program included a 580,000 square foot Adult Detention Facility in downtown Phoenix with 1,800 beds and 1,180 cells, an 850,000 square foot Detention Facility with 2,300 beds and 1,495 cells, 400,000 square feet of new Juvenile Facilities adding 388 juvenile beds, a 400,000 square foot, 1,000-car parking structure, a 60,000 square foot new Medical Examiner's Office, and a 450,000 square foot, 1,250-car parking structure. Final completion of all phases of this work was June 2004.
When all of these projects have been completed, Hunt-Jacobs will have put in place more than $725 million worth of work in Maricopa County.
