Hunt Construction Group In Association With Kwame Building Group Breaking Ground on the New St. Louis Cardinals Ballpark

INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA - Hunt Construction Group, the nation's largest sports venue builder with more than 75 sports facilities opened to date, and locally based KWAME Building Group will break ground Saturday, January 17, 2004, on the $275 million New St. Louis Cardinals Ballpark. This new facility will consist of 1.3 million square feet of new construction, more than 46,000 seats, luxury suites, and club seats.

The New Ballpark will be completed in phases and eventually existing Busch Stadium will have to be demolished to allow for the final phases of the ballpark to be completed. The demolition of Busch Stadium is slated for the fall of 2005 immediately following the 2005 season. The phasing is similar to the method that Hunt Construction Group phased the Great American Ball Park, home of the Cincinnati Reds, which opened in the spring of 2003. Major League Baseball's St. Louis Cardinals' new home will open in time for Opening Day 2006, and is being built adjacent to Busch Stadium, the Cardinals' home for three decades. Upon completion, the new ballpark will be one of the finest in the nation.

Another MLB stadium currently being built by Hunt Construction Group, Citizens Bank Park, new home to the Philadelphia Phillies, will open within budget and on time for Opening Day on April 12, 2004. In addition, Hunt Construction Group will also open the Phillies' New Spring Training Facility in Clearwater, Florida. The first game is scheduled for March 4, 2004.

Other baseball stadium landmarks built by Hunt Construction Group include AT&T Park, San Francisco, California; Jacobs Field, Cleveland, Ohio; Comerica Park, Detroit, Michigan, Great American Ball Park, Cincinnati, Ohio; Chase Field, Phoenix, Arizona; Miller Park, Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Safeco Field, Seattle, Washington; and Tropicana Field, St. Petersburg, Florida.
