Doug Morris joins Hunt Construction Group as Vice President of Healthcare

DougMorris_sHunt Construction Group, Inc. is proud to announce Douglas Morris as the newest member of our Hunt team. Mr. Morris will serve as Vice President of Healthcare for Hunt Construction Group.

With over 32 years experience in the healthcare and design industry, Morris has been a leader in healthcare facilities and in community organizations.

Most recently, Morris worked for Clarian Health as the Vice President of Facilities. During his 17-year tenure at Clarian, he was responsible for master planning, design and construction, maintenance, clinical engineering and environmental services. Morris led the effort to consolidate all of these service departments during the consolidation of Methodist Hospital with Indiana University Hospital and Riley Hospital to form Clarian.

Morris’ leadership guided development of Clarian West Hospital, Clarian North Hospital, Melvin and Bren Simon Cancer Center, The Clarian Pathology Lab, Fairbanks Hall, Clarian Arnett Hospital, and the Downtown Peoplemover. Projects currently under construction include the Simon Family Tower at Riley, Clarian Saxony Hospital, plus the neurosurgical renovation and expansion at Methodist.

The completed projects have received numerous local and national awards for design and construction, and have been featured in articles and books by The Center for Health Design for their leadership in the healing environment and evidence-based design.

In 2003, Morris was recognized as one of the Who’s Who Behind The Scenes in Healthcare by the Indianapolis Business Journal, and in 2006 as Owner of the Year by Midwest Construction magazine.

Morris has served the community through his leadership as Chairman of the Board for the Metro Indianapolis Coalition of Construction Safety, the Indiana Construction Roundtable, the Near North Development Corporation, and board member of the Indianapolis Arts Center where he served on the Buildings and Ground Committee.

Prior to moving to Indianapolis in 1992, Morris worked for Parkview Hospital in Ft. Wayne where he led the facilities group and participated in community leadership through his volunteer work on the Board of Zoning Appeals, Redevelopment Commission, and Ft. Wayne Art Museum.

Hunt Construction Group is excited to see the expertise and experience of Douglas Morris join our team. His experience will complement Hunt’s innovative, sustainable and landmark healthcare facilities.
