Vision Statement

Education

• Employees at every level are encouraged to pursue LEED Accreditation. All employees are offered LEED orientation to obtain a general understanding of and speak the language of LEED.
  
  
• Hunt reimburses employees for costs associated with LEED Accreditation and continuing education.

• Employee education will be continued via partnerships with green consultants and the Hunt Learning Center.

Transportation Strategies

• Fleet vehicles will be replaced as needed with more efficient vehicles that aim to meet or exceed the Federal Average Fuel Economy Standard.
  
  
• Reimbursement of 100% of all bus/rail passes is provided for employees who utilize mass transit for commuting to/from work and to/from airports when traveling for company business.
  
  
• Fuel reimbursement incentives are offered to employees who ride-share to/from work.

Office Practices

• Recycling of glass, aluminum, paper, cardboard is practiced in every office and on every project where services are available.
  
  
• Recycling office products and purchasing of recycled content products is practiced in every office and on every project.
  
  
• Laptops are procured in lieu of desktop computers to minimize energy consumption and maximize employee efficiency.
  
  
• Washable dishware is preferred over disposable products.
  
  
• Lights and thermostats are turned off or down when rooms are not in use. Energy saving light bulbs are utilized.
  
  
• Environmentally friendly cleaning products are used in every office and on every project.

Project Delivery

• Building Information Modeling (BIM) services are available for owners to assess their sustainability goals throughout each phase of the project. The model becomes a deliverable for facilitating operations and maintenance through the building lifecycle.
  
  
• Sustainable aspects of the building are tracked and monitored via BIM to demonstrate ROI and reduced carbon footprint.
  
  
• LEED strategies are employed for project preconstruction services, product selection, buy out and construction practices regardless of project pursuit of LEED Certification.
  
  
• Project trailers and jobsite office/TI will use green technologies and sustainable products where possible. LEED certified buildings are preferred for locating project offices.
  
  
• Projects will track sustainability achievements via monthly report.
  
  
• Sustainability practices are part of each jobsite employee orientation and toolbox talk.
  
  
• Outreach is provided to further educate the subcontracting community about green initiatives.
  
  
• Subcontractors and vendors are incentivized to employ sustainable practices.
