Company Milestones
1944
Known as Huber, Hunt & Nichols at the time, Hunt Construction Group was established in Indianapolis, Indiana by Paul Hunt, Arber Huber, and Harry S. Nichols. Huber and Nichols left the firm shortly after its founding, and Paul Hunt carried on as sole owner.
1953
Paul Hunt turned over direction of the company to his son, Robert C. Hunt, an engineering graduate of Case Institute of Technology, with graduate work at M.I.T.
1956
The Hunt Paving Company was established in Indianapolis to perform road and interstate work.
1960
The Construction Management Department was established in response to the increasing involvement of construction technology and know-how during building design.
1974
The Hunt Corporation was formed to act as a holding company for Hunt Construction Group and to help unify the various company operations.
1979
Established an office in Dallas, Texas.
1984
Established an office in Phoenix, Arizona.
1996
Established an office in Tampa, Florida.
1999
Established offices in Orlando, Florida and San Francisco, California. Annual sales volume tops $1 billion for the first time in company history.
2000
Huber, Hunt & Nichols changes its name to Hunt Construction Group.
2005
Robert G. Hunt takes over Hunt and all subsidiaries as President & CEO.
2006
Robert G. Hunt appointed Chairman/CEO.
2007
Established an office in Irvine, California.
Today
Hunt Construction Group currently maintains a contract volume of between $6 billion and $8 billion of work.
